Deer Point Lake is a 5,000-acre freshwater lake located in Panama City, FL just 7 miles North of the beach. Deer Point is fed by natural freshwater streams and supplies more than 760 million gallons of fresh water daily to Panama City and the surrounding areas.
With hundreds of miles of rivers, dozens of freshwater springs, picture-perfect white sand beaches, an aqua blue Gulf, coastal dune lakes and forests, state parks, and thousands of acres of national forest, Panama City is a special place to visit for a vacation.
The lake house, built in 2023, has a private pool next to the house, overlooking the lake with a private dock for use by all renters. This cottage was built with vacation rental use in mind so that our guests could book it as a one, two or three bedroom cottage. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and covered porches on each unit. Each unit has a private entrance with door code locks and a common laundry area. All of the units are soundproofed and one of the units has a full kitchen. Two of the units have a queen bed and a full over full bunk bed in each of them, and the third unit has a king. All units have private covered porches overlooking Deer Point Lake.
Booking Direct allows you to get the same unit(s) without paying the service fees of the big sites such as Airbnb and VRBO. By allowing our guests to book the units in the cottage separately, you only pay for what you need. Each unit has a key pad on the door for separate guest entry. The price you see includes everything including the cleaning fee. Dogs are allowed up to 50 lbs. with an additional pet fee.
There are 2 fishing Kayaks, multiple charcoal grills, picnic tables, and a lake side fire pit for guest use. A private boat dock and trailer parking is available for guest use as well. There is a 50 amp / 240 volt EV plug for our guests traveling in electric vehicles, and a 30 amp RV site on the property if you are traveling in an RV.
Bring your boat or jet skis to explore the lake, or enjoy some great fishing as the lake has very little fishing pressure on it. There is a fishing dock on the property and a fishing pier located near the boat ramp on the west side of the dam. Multiple boat ramps are located just down the road from the cottage as well. This lake is best known for its shellcracker (redear sunfish), Bream (bluegill), and largemouth bass. The lake is also perfect for skiing and other water sports, as there is not much boat traffic! There are two kayaks on site for our guests to use and explore the lake with included with your rental.
The cottage is located 25 minutes from Panama City beach, 20 minutes from Panama City airport, and a 45 minute drive to Seaside and 30A area. There are also several beaches within 25 minutes and Pier Park is less than 30 minutes away.
We can arrange for charters for snapper, grouper, redfish, trout, bass and bream if you would like to fish during your visit. We can recommend several area restaurants that serve local seafood. Much of Bay County is public land. Fishing, hunting, birding, kayaking, or boating on the rivers make for great day activities. Relaxing on the lake or in the pool just steps outside your front door is also a good option.

Beaches
Panama City Beach, features 27 miles of white sand beaches along the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico, has dozens of public beach access points, waterfront restaurants that serve up fresh local seafood, and legendary attractions.
The waters at Panama City Beach are famous with fishermen and scuba divers who enjoy the benefits of dozens artificial reefs located offshore, and with a coastline that angles slightly toward the west, you can watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico every day of the year.

Kayaking Econfina Creek
Pack a lunch and bring your snorkel, for you are about the enjoy the paddle of a lifetime as you explore Econfina creek and its many crystal clear springs along the popular 7.5 mile trip. Cabbage palms drape over the water’s edge along with blooming wildflowers scattering the banks with color during your journey. Steep, fern-covered limestone walls prevail along the paddle where the creek slices into the ancient limestone of the Floridan Aquifer. Enjoy the lush sub-tropical vegetation, unique honeycomb limestone banks, and six major spring areas that combine to make this Florida’s most beautiful canoe trail!
